Week 4 - Things are shaping up, but we have a long way to go. Oddly enough, after 3 weeks we have 3 teams at 3-0 and 3 at 0-3. I'm guessing we should play 3333 boxed on the lotto this week.

Lightning (0-3) vs. WoWW (1-2)

Team "Maurice Smith" vs. Team "Manning's on Bye." Lightning are coming off a heart breaking 3 point divisional loss at the hands of the Knights while WoWW is off to their worst start since 1997. Maurice Smith may just be what The Lightning needed to bolster a rather non-existent running attack. However, after last weeks grudge match loss to the Magic, Owner McMahon was asked in a press conference what he thought about the execution of his offence he replied, " I think that's a good idea." So look for a WoWW win this week, or bloodshed.

Crushers (0-3) vs. Knights (2-1)

I must admit, preseason I had the Crushers rated as a contender after the draft, but I guess Trent Green is no Steve Young. The Knights on the other hand look about as solid of a team as there is in the league this year. This one could get messy.

Cougars (2-1) vs. Storm (3-0)

Faulk rules. Cougars drool.

Panthers (2-1) vs. Nukers (0-3)

Panther's are coming off a week 3 thrashing on the Minoa Maulers AND are in contention of the East Divisional lead. In other words, there has been a rip in the space-time continuum and all reality as we new it is reversed. In the Nukers case, last week they started 9 guys and STILL lost. That has GOT to hurt. The Panthers should win this one in a walk, even without the help of Deuce McAllister, but they won't.

Onslaught (0-3) vs. Maulers (2-1)

The Onslaught are making to a bid to become the first rookie owner with a win against a rather angry Maulers team who were trounced by The Panthers last week. (You know after 4 years of doing this I have never typed the phrase "Trounced by The Panthers.") The question in this game is which Maulers team will show up. Will it be the one who averaged 90 points per game or the one that was TROUNCED BY THE PANTHERS? With The Edge on bye and Eddie George facing a tough Baltimore D, my guess is the latter. On the other hand, the OO have had some decent pick-ups to fill some gaping holes and get their star receiver back this week. For the second week in a row I have to take the Onslaught in an upset. (Maybe they should change their name to the Onondaga Upsets?)

Game of the Week

Magic (3-0) vs. The Sharks (3-0)

Week 3 was brutal for the Sharks, losing Jamal Anderson for the year for the 2nd time in his 3-year career with the Sharks. I can't help thinking that with the Magic's penchant for making their opponents players disappear, that there is something fishy here. (Get it? Sharks, fishy. Get it?) If you watch the replay very closely, you can see Tanya Harding race on to the field, whack Jamal in the knee with a lead pipe and race away. Later that day Tonya was seen cashing a $50.00 check from Owner Quinn. Coincidence or concubine? You be the judge. Fortunately for the Sharks they were able to replace Jamal with such quality talent as Michael Pittman and Antowain Smith. (Not) Look for a good day from Warner, and for Moss to nullify any potential points from Culpepper. Also, after 2 years of patience Shaun Alexander gets his first start for the Magic. All this adds up to another Magic win.

Good luck to all. ~Jim
